School Program Coordinator

Position Summary:  The School Program Coordinator is a full-time, salaried position responsible for scheduling school and other educational programs. The School Program Coordinator supervises seasonal part-time Environmental Instructors at the BVA/RCVA offices, Saalbach Farm near Coatesville and other locations in the watersheds.  This position also assists with members programs and summer camp as well as organizing and working special events and meetings.

 

Position Reports To: Executive Director 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Scheduling all school environmental education programs

2.      Lead all marketing efforts related to education programs

3.      Maintaining, organizing and budgeting for program supplies

4.      Writing and updating education programs correlating with state standards

5.      Assist with training and hiring education Environmental Instructors

6.      Assist with all aspects of summer camp

7.      Assisting with organizing and working at special events and meetings

 

Position Qualifications: 

 

1.      B.A./B.S. degree required, preferably in the education or environmental field

2.      Experience teaching outdoor, environmental education programs desired

3.      Experience teaching K-12 students desired

4.      Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask

5.      Effective oral and written communication skills

6.      Efficient computer skills, training and experience with windows based programs.

7.      Flexibility to work effectively in a variety of situations, and with various groups and individuals in a team based atmosphere

8.      Ability to work some weekends and evenings

9.      Ability to occasionally drive a fifteen person rental van.

10.  Ability to adhere to “BVA Core Competencies for Job Performance”.
