POINT-TO-POINT BENEFITS
BRANDYWINE VALLEY ASSOCIATION
(West Chester, PA) — Beautiful
spring weather welcomed the 69th running of the Brandywine Hills
Point-To-Point Races on April 3rd. Presented by the Radnor Hunt
Foxhunters on the scenic grounds of the Brandywine Valley
Association the races benefit the nonprofit organization’s
watershed education programs.
Nearly 1,000 race goers enjoyed
a banner day of racing. Enthusiastic race goers lined the finish
line cheering on their favorite jockeys and horses. They also
enjoying the parade of hounds and a fabulous brunch provided by
Hickory House Catering. Children participated in the ever
popular stick pony races, face painting, pennies in the hay,
painting of a steeplechase mural and educational craft
activities. Jockeys competed on the challenging 3-mile course
with 17 jumps. First Place was awarded in the following race
divisions to:
Small Pony - One Stinky
Pony owned and ridden by Katie Hindt
Large Pony - Prince
Caspian owned and ridden by John Brophy
Leadline Pony - Carasol
Ana ridden by Natalie Hendriks and owned by Maggie Hendriks
Heavyweight - Yin
Yang ridden by William Meister and owned by NoGo Stable
Novice - Sky Count
ridden by William Meister and owned by Daniel Baker
Open - Western Fling
ridden by Jason Griswold and owned by Stewart Strawbridge
Foxhunter’s Hip Hip Hurrah
ridden by Nial Molloy and owned by Waverton Farm & Francis M.
